Hi, I'm Tom Richmond,
the host of Inside Your Ed.

My day job is working as an Education Policy Analyst, although I’ve previously been a teacher (twice), a think tank director and a government advisor among other roles.

I set up this podcast as a way of bringing together experts from across the education system so that they can offer their perspectives on a wide range of issues that politicians and policymakers are grappling with. The goal is not to seek agreement on every policy or topic that we discuss, but rather to give our listeners a chance to keep up to date with the major stories, events and reforms that affect children, young people and adults in different educational settings.

What

This podcast aims to get ‘inside’ some of the most important and timely issues facing the education system in England (hence the title ‘Inside Your Ed’). This includes primary schools, secondary schools, colleges, universities, apprenticeships, youth unemployment and much more besides.

When

I aim to publish episodes once a fortnight, although I take a break over Christmas and the summer holidays to give myself a chance to recuperate!

Who

My guests are a mixture of frontline professionals, academics, researchers, policy experts and senior representatives on the particular issue or topic that we are discussing in that episode.
